Wolverine's Most Infamous Child Returns as Marvel's Next Ghost Rider

Wolverine's mutant son makes a dramatic return as the new Ghost Rider in "Hellverine #1," marking his first solo series. This inaugural issue introduces a demonic force, Bagra-Ghul, via a flashback to Wolverine's transformation into Hellverine. Meanwhile, in present-day Virginia and the DC area, a new Hellverine emerges, leading to the rise of the Hellfire Warriors from a science lab devoted to Hell's arsenal. The new Hellverine, riding Ghost Rider's motorcycle, goes on a murderous spree, killing an exploitative priest, serial killers, and even a dinner party of cannibals, transforming them into shrines for Mephisto. The issue ends on a cliffhanger, with Wolverine recognizing the new Hellverine as his son through distinctive tattoos. "Hellverine #1" is available now from Marvel Comics.

The series, written by Benjamin Percy with art by Julius Ohta and cover art by Ryan Stegman, delves into how Bagra-Ghul resurrected Akihiro’s body, transforming him into Hellverine.

Daken, Wolverine’s son born as Akihiro, was created by Daniel Way and artist Steve Dillon, first appearing in "Wolverine: Origins" in 2007. Raised by the villain Romulus as a ruthless killer and manipulated to hate Wolverine, Daken shares his father's healing factor and retractable claws, along with the ability to manipulate pheromones. Over the years, Daken has taken on various roles, including Wolverine in "Dark Avengers" (2009), the Horseman of Death in "Uncanny Avengers" (2013), and Fang in "Marauders" (2022). Now, his transformation into Hellverine is set to explore his complex relationship with his father in unprecedented ways.

"Hellverine #1" is available now from Marvel Comics.
